We were asked by FNRS member hippisch centrum Nootdorp whether we could help think of a solution to the lighting problem. The lighting in the indoor and outdoor riding arenas was outdated and no longer met the needs.
Together with Tim Moesman, owner, the situation was mapped out after which a appropriate lighting plan was drawn up for each site. Main areas of concern were improving the light level and the distribution of light. The halls were now too dark and riders suffered too much from shadows, making for restless riding.
In the small hall, 2 rows of 2x36W have been replaced for 2 rows of 40W luminaires from Rofianda. In the large hall, the 2 rows of 400W luminaires have been replaced for 80W luminaires of
Rofianda. The choice was made to use LED luminaires from the same series so that a uniformity in lighting is created. These LED luminaires have a very wide beam angle, absolutely non-glare, dustproof and waterproof. This type of LED lighting is extremely suitable for use in riding arenas because of its pleasant light image. Thanks to the structure of the luminaires, installation is easy.
At the outdoor courts, the gas discharge lamps have been replaced with LED street lamps. The fixture choice was made so that the lamps could be replaced 1:1. The new lamps could be mounted directly on the poles without having to make any adjustments. The new LED lighting for the outdoor arena provides a energy savings of approx. 60%, a better light display and much greater ease of use. The LED lights switch on immediately at full brightness, which is also considered very pleasant.
After installation, the reaction at equestrian centre Nootdorp was exclusively positive. The new lighting gives a fresh look to the venue. Both staff and riders indicate the high light distribution, improved light level and daylight colour of lighting as very pleasant.
